Texas Math Models

Grades 3–4 · Texas

Five years of STAAR, on one page.

Every math question Texas released for third and fourth grade between 2021 and 2025, sorted by the skill it was asking about. It will tell you what the test has spent its time on. It will not tell you what is coming.

A STAAR math test is around thirty questions. Reading the list below, the thing worth noticing is not any single skill: it is how flat the top of it is. No skill owns the test. The most-tested one still averages about two questions.

So this is not a list of what to cram. It is a way to see what your child is being asked to carry, and roughly how much of the year each piece is worth.

Grade 3

About 31 questions on a test. These 43 skills are every one that came up between 2021 and 2025, most-tested first. The 23 that came up only once or twice are folded away at the bottom.
